Tradtional Dates Return, But With Consistent Start Times
9/15/2009
Martinsville Speedway’s 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule is a mirror image of the 2009 schedule with its traditional spring and fall dates, but with one big change: both events will start at 1 p.m.
The Goody’s Fast Pain Relief 500 is scheduled for Sunday, March 28 at 1 p.m. while the TUMS Fast Relief 500 is set for Sunday, October 24 at 1 p.m.
“We like where our dates fall on the NASCAR Sprint Cup schedule,” said Martinsville Speedway president W. Clay Campbell. “In March the excitement is just starting to build for the rest of the season and in the fall we’re right in the middle of the Chase for the Sprint Cup which is always exciting.
"And we think it's really important that NASCAR has worked with our TV partners to get consistent start times for all of our events, not just here at Martinsville, but throughout the schedule. We know from fan feedback that they wanted earlier start times here and we appreciate NASCAR working to make that happen."
Both Martinsville Sprint Cup Series events in 2010 will again be supported by a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races. The Kroger 250 will be run on March 27 and the Kroger 200 on October 23.
“We believe we’ve got another strong Cup and Truck schedule for 2010,” said Campbell. “Fans can look forward to two great weekends of short-track action at Martinsville Speedway again in 2010.”
