NASCAR Cup Series Race ‘Under The Lights’ Tickets Selling Fast
MARTINSVILLE, Va. – Fans who usually wait until a few weeks ahead of the NASCAR Cup Series races in the spring and fall at Martinsville Speedway to purchase tickets might want to rethink their strategy this year.
In anticipation for the first NASCAR Cup Series night race under the lights on Saturday, May 9th, fans are already purchasing tickets well ahead of last year’s pace.
“We knew once the 2020 schedule for the NASCAR Cup Series was released that our May 9th date was one many fans were looking forward too and they have proven that by the pace in which our advanced ticket sales have been since last fall,” said track President Clay Campbell. “We appreciate the strong support already displayed by our wonderful fans and we just want to make sure that everyone understands you might want to purchase sooner rather than later to get the seats their accustomed too for our races.”
This is also the first year that the spring event at Martinsville Speedway is scheduled to be held in May since 1970 and Campbell expects the change in dates will also provide better opportunities for warmer weather. This change in dates appears to have enticed fans to attend the event in person.
“We get asked all the time about when will we race under the lights and when will the spring date be moved later into the season to give a chance for warmer weather and Martinsville Speedway is blessed that both of those questions have been answered this year,” Campbell added. “Thanks to NASCAR working with us on the schedule, we’re able to give fans the answers they wanted.
“We’re looking for the 2020 season to be one of the best years we have ever enjoyed in the long history of the speedway.”
In addition to the NASCAR Cup Series night race, fans can also purchase tickets for the MAXPRO Window Films 200 for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour slated for Friday, May 8th. This event marks the return of the legendary modifieds to Martinsville Speedway for the first time since 2010 and will also be held under the lights.
Tickets to the first NASCAR Cup Series race under the lights can be purchased by calling 1-877-RACE-TIX or online at www.martinsvillespeedway.com.
