NASCAR fans in Virginia will soon be able to show off their love of the sport, all while giving back. In partnership with The NASCAR Foundation, NASCAR and the state of Virginia are providing an opportunity for a specialty NASCAR-themed license plate that will generate important funds for The NASCAR Foundation to support its children‘s initiatives.
The NASCAR Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of children in NASCAR communities across the country. Most recently, in Richmond, Va., where The NASCAR Foundation held a playset build at the house of a local pediatric cancer patient, creating a safe place for her to play while she undergoes treatment.
And given NASCAR‘s vast involvement from Martinsville to Richmond, the new NASCAR Virginia license plates will do a lot of good in the Commonwealth.
“By reserving a specialty plate, fans can show their love of NASCAR and help make an impact in their local communities,” said Nichole Krieger, executive director of The NASCAR Foundation. “Seeing the smiles as we built the playset today in Richmond attests to the impact this program can have on children across the Commonwealth and we‘re thrilled to be introducing it in the state of Virginia.”
Fans will also notice a decal of the new plate on the pace car this weekend at Martinsville Speedway as it leads the field to green for Sunday‘s Xfinity 500, live on NBC.
The new NASCAR license plates can be personalized and reserved at www.NASCARfoundation.org/valicenseplate. A minimum of 450 license plates must be reserved before the plate can receive legislative approval for production. Once a minimum of 1,000 plates have been sold, $15 from each license plate will be donated to The NASCAR Foundation.
